At Tight Lines, we believe that fishing is more than just a hobby—it's a wonderful way for families to bond and appreciate the great outdoors. Our 2-hour session aims to teach parents and their children the basics of fishing, including equipment use, techniques and local fishing spots.
Hands-On Family Time: Activities are designed for parents and children to engage in a shared learning experience.
Who Can Join?
Families: One parent/guardian and up to two children per family.
Total Participants: 5 parents and up to 10 children (15 total).

Session Structure (2 Hours)
Welcome and Introduction
(5 mins)
Meet the group and instructors.
Overview of session goals and activities.
Safety Briefing and Risk Assessment (5 mins)
Learn basic safety protocols and proper use of fishing equipment.
Group Demonstration (20 mins)
Lead Coach demonstrates essential fishing skills:
Overview of rods, reels, and tackle for spinning, float fishing, and Light Rock Fishing (LRF).
Demonstration of knot tying and baiting hooks.
Second Coach assists with equipment as needed.
Breakout Sessions: Hands-On Practice (20 mins)
Participants split into smaller groups:
Group 1: Practice setting up rods and reels with the Lead Coach.
Group 2: Learn knot tying and bait preparation with the Second Coach.
Groups swap after 10 minutes.
Fishing Time (1 Hour)
Families fish together, applying what they’ve learned:
Parents and children fish side-by-side, practicing spinning, float fishing, or LRF.
Coaches provide guidance and support during the fishing experience.
Wrap-Up: Debrief & Q&A (10 mins)
Recap the day’s activities and gather participant feedback.
Pricing
£25 per adult, with up to two children attending for free!
Equipment: All mixed LRF, spinning rods and bait provided for both parent and child use.
