Angling For Mindfulness

Featured in The Guardian: “Water Just Makes You Feel Better”

We’re thrilled to share a moving piece on Tight Lines by The Guardian, which highlights the heart of our mission—supporting mental health and wellbeing through the simple act of fishing together.

This article brings you to Falmouth pier, where our volunteer angling coaches, alongside men and women of all ages, gather not just for the catch but for the calm, connection and community that fishing provides.

Read about our founders’ stories, the people who join us, and how being by the water, casting a line and sharing a quiet moment can make a world of difference.

It's not about the biggest fish, but about being part of something that supports each other, soothes the mind and celebrates the power of nature to heal.

Good Health Comes To Those Who Bait

Tight Lines is a Cornwall based non-profit Community Interest Company providing mental health support to the people of Cornwall, using the wonderful sport of fishing as the vehicle.

Sea angling from the beautiful Cornish coast can really help boost mood and mindfulness, as surrounding yourself with nature has been shown to have a positive impact on mental wellbeing.

Focusing on your rod or float, as well as striving to improve your fishing skills, helps to relax both your body and mind.

We love fishing and we want you to love it too!
